Carmen Flores is a visual artist, designer, and illustrator who has experience in many types of visual media including: painting, digital illustration, textile sculpture, and installation design.
Earning their B.F.A. in 2022, Carmen graduated with honors from the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan.
After graduation, they moved to Seattle, where they currently live and work. When not creating art, they love tidepooling and hiking as well as being involved in the local queer community. You can also catch them making puppets and working on community projects at the Fremont Arts Council.
Working primarily in oil paint, they utilize texture, vibrant color, and defined borders to create immersive and intricately detailed paintings and illustrations that explore themes of gender, nature, and societal confinement.
